Fly Training Machine Systems is an easy handle and the user friendly system which was a modified version of T-maze teaching machine. The Fly Training Machine Systems includes a main module, two vacuum tubing-ports, two collection tubes and one grid tube. It is main module constructed of a Lucite frame, which contains a central sliding elevator piece with a small compartment to transfer flies from their training location to the choice point where they are tested. Two sidepieces have a machined opening three-quarter of the way forward to accommodate a collection tube, with one of the sidepieces containing a second, backward opening to accommodate a grid tube.

Two vacuum tubing-ports allow vacuum to be drawn though the grid tube during training and collection tubes during testing. Odour block assemblies attach snugly to the grid tube via a grid tube sleeve during training. During testing, odour block assemblies are attached to collection tubes via collection tube sleeves.
